Hi.

A little Equinics update as we round the turn.

RACES:

Equinics races have been purchased and the race pages have been set up on the Equinics site.

Click on the individual race banner to get to that races page. On that page is the information about the specific tribute, the race entries for each residency, and the race password.

Jan 19 is the deadline for your horse entry submission, but you can start sending them at any time.

Each race provides names of individual players or horses that are being given a tribute: you, and your residents are encouraged to send me names to help fill the pages. A side note: I just about never go to the main board, so sending me a PM there will die a lonely death. Please use this email address. Thanks.

Mike will convert the races to Grade I and increase the purses once he finishes tidying up the year end transition and sire additions. The passwords will not be posted prior to then.

DIARY ENTRIES

I have received one (and am attempting to break into a docx file - my first time). Once I do that I will upload that entry to our site using a new link off the Diary page. I would rather deal with that then to not have a diary entry. I hope to coordinate with Squirrel and get all the diary entries posted to the BTB, so either send them to me, or upload to the BTB.

Squirrel - drop me a line when you got a minute and we can coordinate that. (I also need a link to the old HOF members page, and the Eclipse WInners page so I can fill out those two races).

New Nomination 4+ open 16F Dirt

Today i received a letter from brian as follows:

Hello all:

All Equinics races have been carded as Grade I with a million dollar purse. The 3 year old 9 furlong turf and dirt races have been carded as 9.5 as per the FAQs. Although the races are not spaced as some suggested, they are spread out throughout the day.

The race pages are being updated daily as new information comes in:

You, and your residents, are encouraged to submit information where applicable (the more the merrier).

The deadline for me to receive your entries is Jan 19 (time flies). I have received, and posted, horse names from 6 residencies (and a few from a seventh). Please let me know if there are any errors. You can change your entry for any given race up to the race day. I will do my best to get your entries posted within 24 hours of receipt.

The races will be vetted prior to post and horses not appearing on the Equinics race page will be removed by Mike.

I will do a test entry or two this evening, and post the passwords by noon tomorrow if all goes well.

For your residents to get a password:

Go to the applicable race page

Scroll down (it varies by race page) about half way down the page

They will see a line that looks something like this

4+ M 16 D
RACE PASSWORD - xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Find the race using RAFI

Copy and paste the password into the password box

We are not expecting any major problems with entry, but it can be confusing for players who have never entered a password protected race.

If you are unable to talk them through the entry, please email us and we will see if there is a problem on our end. If there is still a problem Mike will have to get involved. Problems in the past have been basic, in that people were trying to enter the wrong race (a 4 year old into a 3 only race, a male into a female).

DIARY ENTRIES

I have enjoyed reading the Diary Entries submitted so far. As always, very entertaining reading (I do have a 24 minute song stuck in my head, though). I will continue linking the Diary Entries on our Diary page. If you are unable to submit your Diary Entry to the BTB for whatever reason send it to us and we will upload it to our page, and Squirrel (what would we do without Squirrel?) will lift it and post it to the BTB.

That's about it. Other then one on one emails concerning your horse entries, race page information, or residency specific questions this should be the last update email.

Good luck to all of you, should be a series of fun, and competitive, races, We should do this again, sometime.
